ROSÉ, the superstar from BLACKPINK, is kicking off her solo era with a bang by collaborating with pop sensation Bruno Mars on their new single, “Apt.” The exciting collaboration was announced on Thursday, October 17, with the song set to release just a day later on October 18.
The announcement was made via Instagram, where both artists posted the track's cover art and simply captioned it: “💗 APT. ⚡︎ OCT 18 💗.” The sleek artwork features a striking black-and-white image of Bruno Mars behind a drum set and ROSÉ posing in a leather jacket, all against a bold pink background with their names and the song title in bold black lettering.
A Collaboration of Stars
For ROSÉ, "Apt." marks her first release since the announcement of her debut solo album, titled rosie, which is set to arrive in December. The 12-track album promises to be an intimate reflection of the star’s journey, with ROSÉ herself sharing earlier this month, "I have poured my blood and tears into this album. I cannot wait for you to listen to this little journal of mine … With this album, I hope you all feel that much closer to me."
On the other hand, Bruno Mars returns to the spotlight following his No. 3 hit “Die With a Smile,” a collaboration with Lady Gaga that topped the Billboard Global 200 chart for seven weeks this past summer.
A Teased Partnership
The duo first teased their collaboration the day before the official announcement, sharing fun Instagram photos from a recent hangout where ROSÉ taught Mars a Korean drinking game. Mars joked in his caption about the wild night, writing, “Soon after, she tried to kiss me, and I was like ‘woah Rosie! what part of the game is this?’” He continued the playful story by adding, “She was like, ‘I ain’t playin games wit you anymore lil boy! Big Rosie bout that BIDNESS!’” ROSÉ humorously responded, commenting, “what’s wrong with uuuu.”
With this playful lead-up, fans are buzzing with excitement for "Apt.", eagerly awaiting what’s sure to be a chart-topping hit from two of the world’s biggest music stars.
